Marilise van Zyl

Marilise lives in Johannesburg and Kenton On Sea and is a student at the Lorette Atkins School of Art.  Her watercolour and ink art comes from a place of wonder and gratitude. 

As a retired criminal trial advocate, she has seen the undercurrents of loss and despair.  As a retired educator, she has witnessed the promise of new beginnings, resilience and hope.

Her work has elements of brooding storms and overcoming hurdles, roots and seeds representing renewal and tenacity and it also celebrates the joy of simple things.

She loves blue!

Marilise is also a silversmith and studied jewellery design at the Liz Laubser School of Jewellery Design.
