Ingrid Tonkin

 Ingrid lives in Plettenburg Bay with her husband Jon. Ingrid has been painting under the guidance of Cyril Coetzee since 2006. Ingrid has developed a distinctive style, that is immediately recognized by those who are familiar with her work. Cyril describes Ingrid as an artist who has an amazing feeling for chiaroscuro, for intense illuminated subjects against dark backgrounds, in the tradition of Caravaggio. These paintings are moody and delivered to a high standard with glazing. She is a perfectionist in all that she does. Ingrid has painted a series of unusual portrait and figure studies which now hang locally and internationally. She hopes that the viewer of her works remains intrigued and captivated.
