Reclaimed materials become enlightening wildlife in her skilled hands. She relishes exploring and sharing the potential of functional upcycled art. In 2019 she won joint 1st at the Innibos National Craft Awards, and in 2020 was an Enviropaedia Eco-Logic Award finalist. ‘Clare' and 'Khanyi' both mean 'light' says Rothwell. ‘I use my design skills to make my customers’ homes and our environment a little bit brighter.’

Clare supports Shine NGO.  A pair of owl lamps will be raffled at the exhibition, with the proceeds going to Shine.

Shine NGO assists underserved people to access opportunities to sustainably escape poverty and grow towards their full potential.
