Cheryl Castle

Born in Port Elizabeth into a very talented multi-generational family of artists, from whom she has received much inspiration and encouragement over the years.

Throughout her many travels in South Africa and abroad she has kept sketchbook journals in mainly pen and wash. She has exhibited in many joint exhibitions and galleries and have sold work to collectors in both South Africa , Europe, UK and the USA.

She specializes in narrative-figurative works, mainly in oils, but diversifying these days in mixed media, watercolour etc.

She finds much inspiration in her surroundings in the Eastern Cape where she lives and has a home studio in "a little bit of paradise" on the banks of the Bushmens River together with her husband Charles who is her greatest supporter, art critic and encourager. They returned to this special part of the world after many years of having lived in Natal and Gauteng .
